Portended?

I've been holding a copy of the New York Times my brother asked me to buy him back in November.  It's the November 5 issue, to be precise (it should have the NYC marathon results in it).  I pulled it out today for him.  The cover story is "Pakistan Rounds Up Musharraf's Political Foes".  As many people are blaming Pervez Musharraf for Benazir Bhutto's assassination, I wonder if this headline wasn't an omen of things to come...
