I’ve been replaying this song over and over throughout the day after finally listening to the actual lyrics and not just swaying to the music…I can relate to these lyrics – I’ve been this person before…haven’t we all?
“No One” –
So much pressure
I feel hopeless
Don’t be angry with me
I can't hold this in any longer
But you never listen to me
You’ve been sending me messages in language that is foreign to me
I'm tiring from trying to decode the way you see things
This is why there's no one
This is why there's no where
This is why there's no one
Yes, I'm grateful
Would you ever notice?
You’re too busy watching TV
I'm just wondering
Are you really happy?
Because you're never happy with me
Once again I’m on the fence with the way this feels and how things should be
And I'm tiring of hoping you'll decode the way I see things
This is why there's no one
This is why there's no where
This is why there's no one
Remind me again of how much I've cost you
You say that I’m expensive and I know that you've good intention
But if I'm such a bad investment,
Don’t tell me you love me if you won't give without receiving
You’ve been sending me messages in language that is foreign to me
I'm tiring from trying to decode the way you see things
This is why there's no one
This is why there's no where
This is why there's no one
Years ago I fell in love with this band Splashdown after hearing their song “Ironspy” on the local college radio station. I could find nothing in the way of cds to purchase, but I did find quite a few free tracks online so I downloaded them and made my own disc. Just recently I came across them again, only this time I found that they had broken up and the individuals in the band had moved on to their own projects. Of particular interest to me was the vocalist Melissa Kaplan and her new project Universal Hall Pass. I quickly acquired both of her albums, Subtle Things and Mercury. Soooo good. J Two thumbs up from this happy little goddess.
